Sorry it has taken so long but I have been running around like a wizard without a wand for the last month. Finally am able to sit down for a few and post about my daughters birthday party! YAY! Most of this will just be quick pictures but at the end will be links to other Harry Potter posts I have made to help you cast your own Wizard Worthy party as well as links that I used to pull this off! So enjoy! And watch the video at the end!
And remember, most everything I did here cost me less than $5 to create - Like the Dementor and the Sorting Hat. It goes to show with some time, creativity and cheapness you can pull this off no problem!
Potion Area created from colored water, flours, sugars, printable labels and jars I found at goodwill
Chocolate Pumpkins created from Wilton Melts and Pumpkin Shaped Ice Cube Trays
Snitches, made from Ferrero Rochers and Craft Feathers
House Cookies - Edible images cover colored dough in the center. Break open and reveal your house!
Well my daughters birthday is coming up and she requested a Harry Potter Themed Birthday party, so me being me decided to go all out for her and do what I could to make it nifty. Going with what others had done before and a few ideas of my own, a massive party invitation was put together. The most impressive part was the Marauder's Map Invitation itself. I took a map I found online at another website and altered it a bit to include a middle fold out section. Link with to the original is here - Marauders Map - Now, this is for a flat map with no folding insert in the center. If you would like to add that, just follow the pictures and add one yourself, it is rather simple to do....After you have followed the basic steps on the other website to construct your map, follow with these steps before folding anything. First cut the inside map to fold outward. I did this on a hard surface with a razor blade to get clean lines and not tear the paper. Then simply fold out the cent...
Well, thanks to a few things coming through I am now dabbling in the edible images department. I started out by ordering a few and now am printing my own. YAY! I love it! For many it would be a quick and easy way to add zest, and for me it is as well, but more than that. Now I can take all those digital art works I create and make them even better by making them sweet!!!! Oh I cannot wait! Birthdays are huge in the months of April and May for my family down in Albany, and not to mention mothers day. So I will be diving head deep into some fun stuff this week and shipping is down to them! So, be on the look out! "Cherish" is just the first of many!
